Books
Muslims believe that God has always told people about His message and guided humanity through special people called Prophets, but also through special Books, also known as ‘revelation’ or scriptures. These Books are supposed to be like guide books on how to live your life. They teach human beings how worship God, how to live a good life, and how to make sense of the universe around them.
Muslims believe that there may have been many Books sent over the centuries to help guide human beings, the most well-known of them today are the Torah, the Psalms and the Bible, These are all seen as special Books, sent from God. For this reason Jews and Christians are sometimes referred to as ‘People of the Book’. They also believe that the final Book from God was the Quran. The Quran shares many of the stories of previous scriptures, but also adds new teachings. It is addressed to all human beings and not just to Muslims.
